As part of the implementation of its strategic objective to increase voluntary tax compliance, the Tax Department has announced that its tax officers will, from the beginning of August 2017, carry out island-wide visits to business premises.
The purpose of the visits is to inform taxpayers of possible outstanding tax liabilities, to confirm the correct application of the legislation, to provide information as well as to renew and broaden the tax base.
It is the intention of the Tax Department to systematically carry out such visits in order to identify on a timely basis any weaknesses in tax compliance and to provide the necessary solutions in cooperation with the taxpayers.
