Noble Energy, operator of Block 12 in the Cyprus offshore natural gas exploration efforts, has partnered up with the Pervolia Community Council and the Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association (CYMEPA) by adopting 400 meters of the Faros Beach, located near Pervolia Village in Larnaca.
A portion of the beach is listed by the Natura 2000 as a protected natural habitat area and the rest of the beach is a public swimming area.
The campaign started with a clean-up effort by 20 Noble Energy employees, who collected litter from the beach and from the sea. The company installed wooden garbage bins, benches and signs that encourage the public to keep the beach clean. Employees also committed themselves to keeping the beach clean with several clean-up campaigns throughout the year.
Noble Energy has further plans to continue supporting environmental and marine conservation in Cyprus in accordance with its sustainability report available at www.nobleenergyinc.com .
