The Consumer Price Index for May 2008 increased by 0,89 units or 0,81% to 110,19 units compared to 109,30 in April 2008.
“This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain fresh fruit, petroleum products and certain clothing and footwear items. Decreases have been recorded in the prices of certain fresh vegetables and potatoes,“ the Statistical Service says.
For the period January-May 2008, the CPI recorded an increase of 4,7% compared to the corresponding period of 2007.
