In February 2024, total Bank Deposits saw a significant net increase of €65.4 million, following a previous decrease of €366.0 million.
Additionally, loans experienced a large net increase of €348.9 million after a net decrease of €122.9 million in January 2024.
The Central Bank of Cyprus’ Monetary Financial Institutions (MFIs) reported these statistics in their March 2024 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics. Total deposits in February 2024 increased by 0.3% annually, reaching €52.0 billion, with deposits from Cyprus residents increasing by €101.8 million.
Household deposits increased by €41.2 million, while non-financial corporations saw a decrease of €63.0 million. Total loans also increased by 1.5% annually, reaching €25.0 billion, with loans to Cyprus residents increasing by €77.9 million.
Household loans decreased by €3.9 million, while non-financial corporations saw an increase of €60.6 million. Loans to other domestic sectors increased by €21.2 million.
