Swedish firm Vinge is reinforcing its competition practice in both Brussels and Stockholm. Kristian Hugmark, who comes from Howrey, will become the new resident partner in Brussels. Meanwhile, Marcus Glader will relocate as partner from Brussels to Stockholm. He will be part of the firm at the end of the year.
As a result, Vinge will have a team of 6 competition lawyers in Brussels and nearly 30 in total.
“Vinge’s offices in Brussels are already larger than our Nordic competitors’.” Kristian Hugmark said. “That gives the whole firm a competitive advantage. As Vinge now broadens its competition practice and at the same time gives it more edge, Nordic companies can feel reassured that we are fully capable of handling any competition or EU law dossier in Brussels.”
Vinge was the first Swedish law firm established in Brussels just over 20 years ago. The Brussels presence has boosted Vinge’s competition law practice, and demand continues to increase.
Marcus Glader said: “Our work load in Brussels increases not only in terms of transactions and related competition law aspects; we see an increased focus on strategic counselling to companies.”
Carl Wetter, head of Vinge’s EU and competition law team, says: “With Marcus Glader, Vinge’s competition law team in Stockholm grows from two to three partners. Vinge will now have seven partners and approximately 30 lawyers with a focus on EU and competition law.”
