Cyprus will chair the annual meeting of Commonwealth Finance Ministers, in Washington, in October 2019, a Finance Ministry press release says.
The decision was taken during this year`s meeting in Indonesia, in which Cyprus` delegation is headed by the ministry`s permanent secretary Christos Patsalides.
During the summit yesterday, a Commonwealth Secretariat proposal that Cyprus undertakes the chairmanship of the meeting “was adopted unanimously”, the press release notes.
In this context, Cyprus` Finance Minister Harris Georgiades will chair the meeting which will take place in Washington, in October 2019 on the sidelines of the IMF`s and the World Bank`s annual meetings, the press release concludes.
