A 14-YEAR-OLD British holidaymaker was caught stealing jewellery valued at €10,300 from a hotel shop.

The teenager who was on holiday in Paphos with her parents, did not realise her movements were being captured by CCTV.

Police believe the youngster was planning on smuggling the jewellery back to the UK to sell.

The teen was taken to Paphos Police station accompanied by her parents, who claimed not to know anything about the theft.

When confronted with the film footage, the young girl admitted the crime and gave back the haul.

Police charged her with theft and released her. She travelled back to the UK with her family later the same day. Police say she may be required to attend Paphos central court at a later date.
