Cyprus: In the context of the digitization and modernization of the services offered to the Citizens, the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Research and Innovation, announced some changes in applying for unemployment benefits, maternity allowance, and payment contributions of the Social Insurance Services.
Unemployment allowance
From 19/9/2022, the electronic submission of applications for Unemployment benefits by the Social Insurance Fund can be made through the government portal www.gov.cy. Concerned citizens must also maintain an active registration throughout their period of unemployment and renew their registration regularly, in accordance with the instructions.
Maternity Allowance
As of 26/9/2022, the electronic submission of applications for Maternity Allowance by the Social Insurance Fund, which has already been implemented, becomes mandatory.
Social Insurance Contributions
From 03/10/2022, concerned individuals and companies will also be given the opportunity through the SISnet Online System for the Payment of Contributions of the Social Insurance Services, in addition to their current contributions, to pay contributions for periods whose deadline has passed.
