Simon Mapham, Head of Private Label Fund Advisory at UBS Switzerland in Cyprus to discuss the use of fund structures.
The International Funds Summit: Bridging the gap between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, which takes place on May 29-31 at the Grand Resort Hotel in Limassol will host expert speakers who will focus on the current EU regulatory framework, identify the latest global trends and opportunities, and highlight the advantages of Cyprus as an Investment Funds hub. The summit, organised by the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA), is being held under the auspices of the President of the Republic and the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA).
The use of fund structures by Ultra-High Net Worth individuals (UHNW) and global family offices (GFOs) will be discussed at the Summit. Simon Mapham, Head of Private Label Fund Advisory at UBS in Switzerland, will analyze the needs, requirements and considerations of UHNWs and GFOs, and the regulatory framework regarding those needs. Within that discussion, he will also speak about the potential for Cyprus to become an Investments Funds hub.
Simon Mapham’s team at UBS assists clients by helping them navigate different legal structures and fund jurisdictions, the applicable regulatory framework(s) as well as the relevant tax considerations. Before joining UBS, amongst other roles, Mapham headed the structured products team of Man Group, one of the world’s leading providers of alternative investments, where he was responsible for establishing different investment vehicles and platforms for collective investment.
