Stocks slip; crude, euro recovers

The meeting between President Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat has been postponed because of the death of Elsi Christofias’ father.

According to an official announcement, issued here today, the cancellation of the meeting was decided following an understanding between Christofias and Talat.

The new meeting between the leaders of the two communities will take place next Wednesday, February 25, at 10 am.

The two leaders were due to resume talks on the property issue.

Christofias and Talat have been engaged in negotiations since early September last year, aiming at reunifying the island, divided since the Turkish invasion of 1974.
