Campaign against undeclared work and compliance with labor legislation
The Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance (through the Inspection Service), will carry out in June 2022, inspections on a Pancyprian scale, aiming to test the compliance of Photographers, Florists, and other services related to Weddings and Christenings.
Campaign purpose
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness among all those working in the above activities about the consequences of undeclared work and non-compliance with the provisions of the relevant legislation. At the same time, checks will be made regarding compliance with basic terms of employment such as salary, working hours, weekly offs, and others.
If a violation is detected, the inspectors can issue a fine of 500 euros, multiplied by 7 months, unless the employer demonstrates that the infringement period was shorter. If it is proved that the infringement period was longer, the fine will be multiplied by the actual months.
